Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information ClassRows collects when you use classrows.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. ClassRows is run by an independent developer. Questions about this policy go to privacy@classrows.com.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage data. We use Google Analytics to count page views and a small set of product events, such as a class list being added, a chart being shuffled or exported, a backup being downloaded, a template being downloaded, or a layout being opened. Events contain only numbers and fixed options (for example "PDF" or "A4"), never names or anything you type. Google Analytics also receives standard technical information: device and browser type, screen size, referring page, and an approximate region derived from your IP address.
- Emails you send us. If you write to hello@classrows.com or privacy@classrows.com, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your class lists. Student names, rules, seating charts and saved arrangements are stored in your browser on your device and are never sent to our servers. See Student Data Privacy for details.
Cookies
Google Analytics uses cookies to tell visits apart. We use Google Consent Mode: visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first, and no analytics cookies are set before they accept. If you decline, analytics stays off for you. ClassRows works the same either way. Your choice is remembered in your browser; clear your site data to be asked again.
We don't use advertising cookies and we don't show ads.
How we use information
- To understand which features teachers use, so we can improve ClassRows.
- To answer your emails.
- To keep the website running and secure.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Service providers
- Cloudflare hosts the website and delivers its pages.
- Google Analytics provides the anonymous usage statistics described above.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is kept for Google Analytics' standard retention period and then deleted. Emails are kept as long as needed to help you, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Your rights
- Access and deletion. Email privacy@classrows.com to ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted.
- Opt out of analytics. Decline in the cookie banner if you see one, use a browser setting or extension that blocks analytics, or clear your site data.
- Your class lists. They're on your device; clearing your browser data removes them completely.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
ClassRows is made for teachers, not students. Students don't create accounts or use ClassRows directly, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Read more on our Student Data Privacy page.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update it on this page and change the date below. Significant changes are noted in the changelog.
